APT receives official honouree at the Webby Awards
IE cruises in with luxury website
A new website created by IE Digital for luxury cruise and tour operator APT has received official honouree status at the 2017 21st Annual Webby Awards.
Hailed as the “Internet’s highest honor” by The New York Times, The Webby Awards, presented by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences (IADAS), is the leading international awards organisation honoring excellence on the Internet.
With 13,000 submissions received for the awards globally, APT was lucky enough to be one of 12 travel sites selected globally to be honoured in this category.
APT’s submission celebrated their industry leading website created by Australian technology consultancy IE Digital. IE is APT’s digital partner, working closely on a roadmap of technology-led initiatives to transform their business.
APT is an award winning Australian owned travel company offering cruises and tours on every continent. Assisted by APT Head of Digital Customer Experience Mary Arbuckle, IE was able to navigate this complex portfolio of products to deliver a technology platform which is both beautiful and easy to use.
The biggest innovation on the site is the pricing section, which means customers can plan down to the dollar what the trip is likely to cost.
Launched in December, the site has already proved to be a huge success for the business, and has been responsible for an immediate and significant increase in newsletter subscriptions and brochure requests.
Rhys Hayes, CEO of IE Digital, said of this result, “for an Australian technology company like IE Digital to be partnering with APT to transform their digital business, and having that work be recognised on a global stage, has been incredibly rewarding,” he said.
“As a growing best practice industry wide, our team set up a dedicated space in IE’s Richmond office designed for the cross-functional team, of APT and IE, to co-locate together. This, coupled with our advanced design thinking and agile practices, was a core factor influencing the success of the product.”
APT Executive General Manager of global marketing and sales Debra Fox said IE’s dedication to the project had paid off. “To be recognised at the Webbys is a huge honour and a testament to the technical skill and digital project management expertise of the team at IE. They worked hard to understand our business. They navigated our hugely complex product portfolio to deliver a high quality platform that is simple, visually appealing and easy to use.”
