Apple Event Annoucements: The iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus and Apple Watch

Today apple announced the launch of it’s latest iPhone product – the iPhone 6 – and it’s entrance into the wearable tech market with Apple Watch. Here’s the features of each product and what you need to know.

iPhone 6:

  • 4.7”-inch screen for iPhone 6, 5.5”-inch screen for iPhone 6 Plus

  • A slimmer design than the iPhone 5S

  • The camera is an 8-megapixel iSight camera with a next generation sensor – this will enable ease with autofocusing

  • All anodised aluminum case with ion-strengthened glass curving around the front

  • Lock button is now located on the side of the device

  • There’s no mention of the screen being made of a ‘sapphire’ product

  • Near Field Communication (NFC) has finally arrived in the iPhone 6

  • Greater battery power

ApplePay is the new mobile payment software. This is Apple’s attempt to further enable your phone to replace your wallet. However, reports indicate it’s only available in the US with no mention of when it will be available in Australia.

Apple Watch

  • It’s not called iWatch, which has surprised many critics

  • Will be available in 2015 (in the US)

  • Starts at USD$349

  • The frame is rectangular as opposed to it’s competitors round shaped design

  • Made of stainless steel and has a sapphire display

  • ApplePay will work with Apple Watch
