Social media platform Pinterest has recently introduced the new feature of Buyable Pins, allowing users to directly purchase products from a retailer’s desktop site or app. Those who are current partners of Shopify and Demandware will be provided with the opportunity to give their consumers access to the specialised pin.

The buy button will only appear on rich pins, which are more detailed and contain product information and links. Customers then just simply pin their desired product, enter an address and credit card details, click buy, and the product will be sent. The new feature adds value to the Pinterest platform for businesses, providing them with a new option to directly reach customers.
